About

A decade of building porous materials for cleaner chemistry.

Dr. Suman Chirra is an MSCA-CZ Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic, where he specializes in the rational design and functionalization of advanced porous materials. His research focuses on zeolites, mesoporous frameworks, and metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), with targeted applications in heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis, CO₂ capture/sequestration, gas separation, and sustainable energy systems. His work is characterized by the development of scalable catalyst systems and sustainable materials for environmental and healthcare challenges.

He earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from the National Institute of Technology Warangal (NITW), India. Dr. Chirra’s career is defined by high international mobility and a track record of securing competitive funding, including the European Commission MSCA-CZ, DAAD, Erasmus+, and TEEP@AsiaPlus fellowships. He has held significant research tenures at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Kaohsiung Medical University, and National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), and formerly served as Assistant Professor and Head of Chemistry at Woxsen University, India.

To date, Dr. Chirra has authored 26 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals such as Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Energy & Fuels, and Materials Today Communications, together with 4 conference proceedings and 2 Springer book chapters. His research impact is evidenced by 361 citations, an h-index of 11, and an i10-index of 12 (Google Scholar, August 2026). He also holds three Indian design patents, all of which are registered with certificates issued. A committed member of the global scientific community, he holds Life Memberships in the Indian Chemical Society (ICS, Life Fellow), the Society of Carbon Dioxide Research and Innovation (CO₂India), and the Catalysis Society of India (CSI), and is a member of the Czech Chemical Society (ČSCH). He serves as Guest Editor for Catalysts (MDPI) and as an expert peer reviewer for over 21 SCI journals, including Scientific Reports and Materials Today Chemistry.
